Chess

The entire wooden board measures 14 × 9 inches and includes a 1/2-inch-high frame around the 8 × 8-inch playing area, as well as around the two storage areas for chess pieces each of the two players have captured. The approximately 3/4-inch-tall plastic chess pieces can be differentiated tactilely; the white pieces feature a raised point, while the black ones are flat on top. The chessmen have pegs on the bottom, which fit into the holes on the chess board. The game pieces are anchored firmly enough so that you may examine the game in progress without dislodging the pieces. The white squares are recessed to differentiate them from the black ones.
